Elizabeth O’Sullivan Receives Gary Martin Memorial Scholarship

Elizabeth O’Sullivan is the 2021 recipient of the Gary Martin Memorial Scholarship! Elizabeth started at Laura Baker Services Association (LBSA) in 2019 and currently works overnights in LBSA’s Community Services Program. Elizabeth is currently pursuing a master’s degree at United Theological Seminary.

Elizabeth enjoys working as a direct support professional and says it has been rewarding making a connection with the client she supports, and she believes the work is important. “It’s (working at LBSA) a concrete step to helping make a community that we can all be proud of.”

In addition to working at LBSA and going to school, Elizabeth and her husband, Ian, run a chicken farm in Dundas and are raising three children.

The Gary Martin Memorial scholarship is an up to $1000 educational scholarship awarded annually to an LBSA staff member who is working on a degree, certificate or certification program. This scholarship is made possible through a generous donation from Eugene & Mary Anne Dietz. Congratulations Elizabeth!!
